Kuang’s educational background and research lie at the intersection of language education and higher education. Her doctoral dissertation investigated the college access and success of immigrant students who were classified as English learners in U.S. high schools, tracing their enrollment in a local community college and transfer to four-year colleges. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, such as Introduction to Research, Issues in Bilingualism, and Structure of English. In her free time, Kuang enjoys hiking, reading, and building with LEGO.
